Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
In the framework of this course, students will learn to apply methods for analysing raw materials which were crucial resources for the survival of prehistoric people. Based on selected case studies, the material culture of prehistoric societies from the Palaeolithic to the Copper Age from diverse regions will be compared and analysed under the stereomicroscope. The focus will be on lithic artefacts, with the goal to discuss similarities and differences between (roughly) contemporaneous cultures.
