ermöglicht mit speziellen Präparationstechniken eine Bestimmung der
Gattung/Art. In der Archäologie kommt die Fundkategorie Holz in
verschiedenen Erhaltungsformen vor und bedingt daher spezielle
Methoden der Bergung und Konservierung. Neben der Möglichkeit
einer musealen Präsentation erweitern solche Funde meist auch die
archäologischen Aussagen eines Kontextes. Als absolute
Datierungsmethoden bieten sich die 14C-Analyse und bei entsprechender
Erhaltung und Holzart die Dendrochronologie an.Die Lehrveranstaltung will Grundlagen der diversen Methoden sowie
Möglichkeiten, aber auch Grenzen der Auswertung solcher Funde
demonstrieren.
