Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The overall topic of the course is "Rebellion, Revolution, Civil War". Students will be asked to choose an event falling into this category, to locate a relevant primary resource in an online repository, and to furnish an analysis of this source in a short academic paper. In accordance with the History curriculum, this exercise is designed to cover the following skills and activities in theory and practise: searching for general information and for literature, formulating a research question, dealing with historical sources, writing academic papers, citing literature and sources, presenting results orally. A first experience with historical auxiliary sciences and archival science is also a component of the goals.

written academic paper (ca. 25.000 characters), presentation, several short written assignments, attendance and active participation
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The minimum requirements for a passing grade are the timely submission of the first and final drafts of the written paper, and the presentation. The following components will be included in the grade:
