Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course gives a problem-orientated survey over the period from around 400 to 1500 AD and the development of Europe in this time and tries to consider the most fundamental social, cultural and political aspects of the medieval world.

Assessment and permitted materials

A final written exam of 90 minutes at the end of term based on the course and additional literature. Facultative additional written papers are possible.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Basic knowledge of European history in the Middle Ages
