Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Since its establishment in June 1945, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) has dealt with a number of cases concerning maritime borders. The research seminar will have a close look at these cases from a historical point of view.

Assessment and permitted materials

Students are expected to attend all classes and meetings, to write a scientific paper (with critical footnotes, 70.000 characters + abstract) and to present the result of their research.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Ability to reflect and research in Global History autonomously. Expanded knowledge of a research question in Global History.

Examination topics

Guided research, discussion, scientific criticism, writing and presenting a research paper of medium length.
