Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Participation in seminar discussions, presentation of seminar readings, shorter written assignments.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Preparation of weekly readings; active participation in seminar discussions; presentation of a text in seminar. Shorter written assignments during the semester. Attendance is compulsory, absence twice is allowed (after informing the seminar instructor via email).
Active participation in seminar discussions (40%), a text presentation in the seminar (30%), and the shorter written assignments (30%) will be evaluated.

The course is designed to provide an understanding of the mediality of history and an overview of a wide range of written, visual, audiovisual, and digital media that will be examined in terms of their importance to the production, transmission, and understanding of history.Contents
The course deals with a variety of media in their function as mediating and shaping history. Through our readings, we explore important theories and examples of application in the field of media history and a historically informed media theory.Methods
