Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The BA Seminar offers students a framework for working on their first academic paper. This paper will deal with the Enlightenmeht in Central Europe, in particular with the role of Vienna, its court and local scientific institutions - all with their respective international contexts. We will put particular emphasis on the legal culture of "enlightened absolutism", and we will look into digital methods, while standing firmly on the ground of traditional humanist methods like conceptual history and prosopography. Another focus is the preparation of grant proposals.
