Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The lecture class discusses the history of the Habsburg Monarchy and of the First as well as Second Republic from the vantage point of political, social, and economic integration: State ( meaning constitution, government, and administration), politics, media, social and economic processes will be analyzed in their interdependence in an exemplary fashion. The lecture class covers the period between the congress of Vienna and Austria's accession to the EU.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Presentation of a broad knowledge on Austrian history, which transgresses the narrow boundaries of conventional chronological classifications and disciplinary segmentations. Austrian history of taught from a broad disciplinary perspective including political, legal, cultural, economic, social, and gender aspects. Further aims of the course are defined in the actual version of the curriculum.
Examination topics
Oral presentation wit media support; interactive discussion of themes within the class; reading for each session is made available online.
