Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Regular presence and continual active cooperation, oral presentation of a paper, test lectures in school, written seminar paper.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The Course has the goal to analyse the reform attempts in Czechoslovakia in 1968 in the context of the international political, economic, cultural and social developments, to convey didactic skills on this example and to test them in practice.
Examination topics
The students should be introduced to the main questions of current historical research and scientific narratives. The course should make the student capable to recognize the historical dimension of the phenomena of the present, to procede by means of structural analysis, contextualisation and reflection of historical continuities and discontinuities, to learn skills to convey the sensibility and the understanding of questions of contemporary history to pupils at school.

5. Results and consequences: success of the “Realists”, federalism, normalisation, social disciplining by a mixture of persecution and social corruption.
