Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course deals with the broad and multifaceted topic of gender in global history. It approaches the topic via an intersectionality approach. That means it looks at gender in global history at the intersection with various categories like class, sexuality, race, nation etc. The thematic work of the course is arranged around the methodological aim of teaching working skills in global history: participants of the course should learn how to develop and structure an academic paper and how to communicate research results through oral and written contributions. They should furthermore become accustomed to the critical reflection of their own academic working skills and be able to critically discuss other peoples work.
