Aims, contents and method of the course

Das Proseminar führt in Fragestellungen und Methoden der Geschichte Südosteuropas vom Frühmittelalter bis in die Gegenwart ein, wobei auf die breite räumliche Kontextualisierung (Mittel- und Westeuropa, Mittelmeer- und Schwarzmeerraum, Anatolien) besonderer Wert gelegt wird. Wesentliche Themen sind:
- Raumkonstruktion und mental mapping
- Herrschaftsstrukturen
- Grundzüge der Gesellschaftsgeschichte
- Religionen
- Sprachen und nationalen Identifikationen
- Migration
- Wirtschaftliche Entwicklung der Region im europäischen Vergleich.
