Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Assessment and permitted materials

Within the hybrid or online mode, the following requirements exist:
1) Moderation of a session: In home-learning mode, this means uploading 3 theses (with a short explanation of one paragraph each) per person in the Moodle forum of the respective unit before the deadline;
2) Short essay of 3 pages on the readings to be discussed in each session. These essays are to be uploaded on Moodle in a specially created folder before the each session;
3) Active discussion on the theses presented by the moderators in the discussion forum. The questions and comments are documented and therefore form an objective basis for the assessment.
4) The presentation of one's own BA topic either in the seminar, once regular operation has been re-established, or as a short video, which must be uploaded to Moodle.
5) A Bachelor thesis of approx. 65,000 characters, (± 5%), including spaces, footnotes, title page, table of contents, bibliography, without graphics (= approx. 17 manuscript pages, 1½ lines, 12pkt.).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

- Active participation in home learning via Moodle (comments on the moderators' theses) and compulsory attendance during normal operation.
- Submission of essays as a discussion of the mandatory reading for each unit
- One moderation is required;
- The presentation is mandatory - either in the form of a short video or in a seminar.
- Timely submission of the bachelor thesis: To ensure good scientific practice, the course management can invite students to a grade-relevant discussion after submitting the bachelor thesis, which must be completed positively.

Assessment scale:
All written (partial) services to be uploaded to Moodle are checked with the plagiarism software turnitin. The performance assessment is based on the following weighting:

- Moderation 15 points
- Participation in the discussion including various forms of feedback for other participants (constructive, technically correct contributions and commitment to discussing the presentations): 15 points
- Essays 25 points
- Oral presentation including handout: 15 points
- Bachelor thesis: 30 points (agreed deadline must be met)

For a positive assessment of the course, 60 points are required, the bachelor thesis must be positive (one-time improvement with a negative result):
1. (very good) 100-90 points
2. (good) 89-81 points
3. (satisfactory) 80-71 points
4. (enough) 70-60 points
5. (not enough) 59-0 points
