Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
historically oriented but analytical introduction to Microeconomic theory topics discussed are: microeconomic problems of classical theory, division of labour, law of variable proportions , theory of rent, malthusian population theory, explanation of relative prices, labour cost theories, marginal revolution, neoclassical theory, theory of the consumer, theory of the firm, atomistic competition, monopoly, oligopoly
Assessment and permitted materials
regular attendance, contributions to class, presentation of one substantial talk on microeconomic problems according to instructions.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
historically oriented but analytical introduction to Microeconomic theory; diligent sand interested students will learn to understand basic microeconomic problems and theories as well as their historical background and their development.
Examination topics
Teaching consists of one unbroken 45 minute seminar weekly. Students are required to read and prepare the literature provided for every meeting and on that basis to contribute in a lively and provocative manner to discussions at all classes.
