Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
In this lecture, some origins, key concepts, methodologies and interpretations of "Global" or "World History" shall be discussed. Additionally, a research project from Area Studies or related studies from the University of Vienna feeding into the field of Global History shall be presented (guest intervention). The emphasis is on areas of Global History informed by my own research. Each lecture is supported by a text provided on moodle. This reading should enable students to get a first introduction into a topic complementing the respective lectures and allow them to put the lectures into perspective and question.
Assessment and permitted materials
Written Exam if possible in presence: answer 4-5 questions out of 6

Examination topics
A corpus of texts is provided for reading in order to make available a broad view on the field and cast common ground for discussion. Use Moodle for access to texts. These Texts are essential for the understanding of the lectures – prior reading allows questions in the respective lecture. In cases I did not find a suited text for each session consult the
