1) Investigates how non European, global topics are presented in museums
2) How the lines of inclusion and exclusion are drawn between the Self and the Other
3) How global connections are made visible (or neglected) for topics of apparently local, or national reach
4) What does “museum” mean, what should it be, how does the institution change against the background of global change? Are there significant regional differences in addressing the global in museums?
5) What are the impacts of a global approach to the stories that are told in museums?

Vienna with its rich museums offers plenty of material; other regions may be included for comparison.
The teaching language will depend on the participants. If there are non-German speakers, it will be English. Basic German is recommended for visits in Viennese museums.
