Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The conquest of large territories of the Americas, starting in the sixteenth century, was fundamental to the creation of the current Americas. In the seminar, we will investigate the different processes of conquest, cultural changes, evangelization, etc. of Spanish America till the 19th century.

Assessment and permitted materials

Students are expected to attend all classes and meetings, to write a scientific paper (with critical footnotes, 50.000 characters + abstract), and to present the result of their research. The students have to submit a provisional research paper latest at June 3, 2019, and the final version of their works latest at August 31, 2019.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The seminar aims to teach the students how to elaborate in terms of content and methodology the correct processing of a scientific topic.
Criterion for assessment: active participation: 25%, presentation - final conference: 25%, cientific paper: 50%.

Examination topics

Guided research, discussion, scientific criticism, writing and presenting the research paper. The final congress will take place on June 6 and 7, 2019. The participation in the final conference is mandatory!!!
