Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This GR will introduce students to the political and cultural history of the United States. Students examine a variety of representative and relevant texts and documents in American history.

Assessment and permitted materials

Grading is based on regular class attendance and the quality of classroom discussion (20%), the presentation of a selected topic (35%), and the written assignments (45%). - Important Notice: No electronic devices are permitted in class - no computers, tablets, mobile phones, etc. This will facilitate students to focus on discussions and debates in class without being distracted or disturbed.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The GR will be taught in an interactive manner, and students are expected to fully participate in reading and discussion of the texts and documents.

Examination topics

Students will carefully read, study, and discuss a variety of selected documents and scholarly articles.
