Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The class provides an overview of the most important stages in the development of history from antiquity to the present. It serves to develop skills in reading and evaluating historiographical texts and specialist literature (recognizing historical images and historical narratives, recognizing a scientific text, function and form of reference systems, types of scientific texts, recording and analyzing existing questions and theses, excerpting, summarizing, quoting , comparing, text-related answering, discussing; plagiarism) as well as an overview of the most important stages in the history of historiography based on historiographic reference texts (at least ancient historiography, medieval historiography, humanism, enlightenment, historism, Marxism, annals, social history, new cultural history , Women and gender history).

Assessment and permitted materials

5 text analyzes (approx. 2,500 characters each); 1 short presentation (approx. 10 minutes) about the author or the environment
