The Seminar consists of several preparatory sessions and a block Seminar from November 19th to 22nd, 2018 in the Monastery of Stift Zwettl, Lower Austria, and a final discussion in January 2019. Participation in the Excursion to the Waldviertel is compulsory.

Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Theme of the Seminar: Power, consent and resistance from the High Middle Ages to the Reformation.
Participants will present papers at the seminar block orally with a written handout given before the block, take actively part in the discussions and hand in a final written paper afterwards. Participation in the Excursion to the Waldviertel is expected.

Papers presented orally, participation in the debates, written essays

Deepened knowledge of the problems of this theme, the sources of and the historiography about it

Examination topics

Preparatory meetings, papers presented orally by the participants at the block at the Seminar Center of the Monastery Zwettl NÖ on November 19th to 22nd, 2018, discussions, written final papers
