Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Global Chains and Networks. Global Division of Agency in Contemporary HistoryThis reading course is entirely linked to the lecture class of the same content. Therefore, it is highly recommended to also enroll in course 070177 VO Introduction to Global History.
Assessment and permitted materials
Weekly readings will be summarized, presented, and discussed by students. In every unit, students will discuss and critically assess one relevant text. Students are required to prepare contextual information about the text (genre, editorial information) and its author(s).
Moodle will serve to coordinate our interactions. Each student prepares three questions regarding the text at hand. The questions will be posted into the Moodle student folder and will be discussed by the plenum in the respective unit. Questions and participation will form part of the grading.
This course does not feature individual presentations but requires constant participation throughout the semester. For selected students, who can prove that they are unable to stay in Austria during the semester due to entry restrictions, this course can also be attended online. Details will follow ASAP.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Active participation and timely submission of assignments are essential for this course.
Each assignment scores separately, with grades ranging between Plus (+), Zero (0), and Minus (-). If an assignment was not uploaded on time it does not count but will lower the calculation of the individual performance record. Subsequent submission of the weekly tasks is not necessary because it will not be included in the grading.
The professors will base their teaching on general feedback to provide shared learning progress.
