Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
To gain expertise in two different cultural areas around the question of religion and war. Much reading, writing, and discussing
Assessment and permitted materials
Quality of writing and intelligence of writing.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Participation (constructive) in class, writing of 3 small papers and one long seminar paper (the latter in two steps, first version and improved last version). The papers can be in German, English, or French. The seminar paper is a review essay, placing two scholarly texts in historiographic context.

Will be partly available on the Moodle site; part of the assignment is to identify the key books or articles on the topic
