Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
This seminary is a course with continuous assessment of students' performance, personal attendance is compulsory. The monitoring is based on the presentation and active discussion of the prepared texts (distributed in advance). On one of the presented topics an oral presentation (15 minutes) has to be given and a paper of 15 pages has to be submitted.

the seminary will present basic anti-Jewish Topoi. In contrast, Hebrew sources (in translation), pictures and material objects will give insight to religion and culture as strategies of Jewish self-assertion. Geographically it will cover the cultural space ,Ashkenaz’, the German speaking parts of the Holy Roman Empire with Jewish population.
The learning units will consist of an introduction and the joint reading of the texts prepared (put on moodle in advance), in the concluding presentation units, the papers of the participants will be given and discussed.
