Aims, contents and method of the course

Im Zuge der Vorlesung sollen Fragen und Themn wie die folgenden näher erörter, diskutiert und durch begleitende Lektüre (Kopiervorlagen!) vertieft werden: Warum Geschichte studieren? Der Gegenstand der Geschichte. Was versteht man unter "Quelle"? Welche Quellen gibt es? Die Historischen Hilfswissenschaften als Quellen- und Überlieferungskritik. Geschichte der Nachbardisziplinen. Bedeutung des interdisziplinären Forschens. Forschungsstätten und Hilfsmittel für das Studium der Geschichte. Geschichte und Problematik der Geschichtsschreibung.
