Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Online-Learning - Distance Teaching: The course will be delivered nearly completely per Video via my youtube channels (e.g. Digiteach Academy: https://youtu.be/6Y5XW61M0cs. Only the first two sessions will be in a lecture hall. All videos will at least be available until the last examination date.In this course a theoretical overview will be given to the topics „non written historical sources“ and „extracurricular places of learning history and politics“.Being able to deal with historical sources as "pieces of the past which are still present" and on which all historical representations are based, is an important aspect of learning history. Only when students work with historical sources they can experience history as reconstruction of the past. In this context we will deal with the following questions: Which potential is there for the work with non written sources in history and civic education? Which types of non written sources are there and in which ways can we work with them in order to foster reflective historical and political thinking? Which possibilies are there in the digital world to get learners in touch with historical sources and to work with them in online settings. The second part of the course deals with the theoretical basis of learning history and politics in extracurricular places. We will deal with subject specific concepts and methods for sucessful learning processes in history and civic education outside the school. In this context we will specifically focus on approaches which can be used in distance teaching and online learning.
