Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In the VO you will get to know selected questions and topics of women's and gender history - in the form of a lecture series by various lecturers at the University of Vienna.
You will acquire the ability to historically classify and analyse structures and processes in the history of gender relations.
Content: Introduction to selected issues and thematic fields of women's and gender history, covering epochs and spaces and given by lecturers from the Institutes of History, Social and Economic History, History of Eastern Europe and Contemporary History.
Method: Lecture with shorter interactive components.

Assessment and permitted materials

Performance is assessed in a 90-minute written examination (free-text answers in complete (!) sentences) at the end of the semester, which includes knowledge and comprehension questions. Three further examination dates follow in the next semester. The exam is held either in HS 41 or digitally via Moodle. Examination mode: Open questions by means of an examination sheet. This is based on discussion questions that are uploaded to Moodle after each VO unit. One of these discussion questions can be uploaded as a 2-page essay and replaces an exam question.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Die Prüfung besteht aus 6 Fragen aus denen 4 zu beantworten sind (bei Mitbringen eines Essay 3 Fragen).
Zu erreichen sind 16 Punkte; 16-15: sehr gut; 14-12: gut; 11-9: befriedigend; 8-6: genügend.

Der in der Vorlesung vorgetragene Stoff (Folien werden auf Moodle zur Verfügung gestellt) sowie die auf moodle zur Verfügung gestellte Literatur.
