Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This class will provide a thematic introduction into approaches to and topics of Global and/or World History. Apart from sessions focussing on fundamental concepts and schools of Global History, a selection of Global History approaches and topics will be discussed. Lectures will be delivered both by the class’ main-lecturers and by guests.

Assessment and permitted materials

This is a lecture class, though ample space will be given to questions and debates. Attendance is not mandatory but highly recommended.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Written examination. The exam is based on: lectures and required reading (TBA). Suggested further reading is fully optional.
