Assessment and permitted materials

In the exam and in your oral contributions, you show: ability to orientate yourself in the subject area, knowledge of the most important concepts and methods in the history of science, ability to conduct independent research in specialist bibliographies and archive portals, familiarity with exemplary cases; In addition, the general scientific ability is assessed: Originality of the access, the independence and clarity of the argumentation, critical handling of the material, nuanced assessment of the research literature, depth of the research.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

In the exam and in your oral contributions the following skills will be rewarded: ability to navigate the subject area, knowledge of the most important concepts and methods in the history of science, ability to conduct independent research in bibliographies and archive portals, familiarity with exemplary cases; In addition, the following is assessed: Originality of approach, the independence and clarity of the argumentation, critical handling of the material, nuanced assessment of the research literature, depth of the research.

Examination topics

In addition to the material discussed during the lecture, independent additional reading on chosen subject areas is expected. The slides are made available for study after the lecture. A comprehensive Moodle course provides reading recommendations for individual projects and classic texts.
