Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The course introduces theories and methods of global history by dealing with the crossing of borders and global exchange in exemplary ways: On the one hand, we approach global circulations by reading and discussing basic global history texts and relevant studies at the intersection of neighbouring disciplines. On the other hand, we address the (digital) access to and the (digital) handling of global historical sources. Under the motto "Everything that travels", small student projects are developed, each of which contextualizes a global historical source in terms of content and a suitable analytical method, and puts it up for discussion.
