Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
In this course, the basics of working skills in Global History have to be worked out together. Using the topic “Global relations in Modern Times” the handling of literature is learned and practiced, as well as the formulation of a scientific question, the construction of a thesis, the presentation of a topic and the writing of a short scientific paper. After reading and analyzing a work about the Umbrella Movement in Hong Kong 2014 and the protests in the city 2019/2010 every student has to formulate an own topic (that could be a chapter of their thesis as well as any other topic of Global History) which he/she has to present at the end of the course.
Assessment and permitted materials
Regular participation in the units. Some short analyses about the topic “Hong Kong protests”, a short paper about an own topic and a power point presentation of this paper.

Regular participation in the units.
Examination topics
Paper about an own topic on Global History (30.000 characters).
