Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Based on the topic of civil rights, especially the civil rights movement in the United States, the course offers an introduction to techniques of historical research. Particularly the following aspects will be introduced and practiced: framing questions, resources and bibliographies, reading techniques, assessing historical sources, writing techniques for scholarly papers (reviews, course/proseminar/seminar papers, abstracts, handouts), presentations of research results.
