Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Building projects of minority confessions in the Habsburg monarchic state were long subjected to restrictions in order for them not to challenge the hegemonic position of the Roman Catholic Church. This is still evident in many buildings in the former imperial capital, which will be visited in the course of this class. On-site presentations will reconstruct how these projects echoed the stages of subjugation, toleration, and emancipation, with turning points in the 1780s and 1860s.

Assessment and permitted materials

Für einen positiven LV-Abschluss müssen alle unter "Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab" angeführten Teilleistungen erbracht werden.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Verpflichtende Anwesenheit in der 1. LV-Einheit (Referatsvergabe), regelmäßige Teilnahme und aktive Mitarbeit [30%], ein Referat (vor Ort) [30%] mit Handout (1-2 S. mit Bibliografie) [10%], kurze Abschlussarbeit [30%].
