Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Pilgerwege nach Rom, Jerusalem und Santiago de Compostela haben Europa vom Mittelalter bis in die Gegenwart durchzogen. An diesen Routen wurden zahlreiche Kirchen, Klöster und Hospize errichtet, in denen Pilgerabzeichen, Souvenirs und andere Gegenstände von den Gläubigen erworben wurden. Im Fokus der Vorlesung stehen Fragen nach den Zielen von Pilgerfahrten im 12. und 13. Jahrhundert und welche Rolle Kunst- und Kultobjekte spielten, die auf den Reisen erworben und verwendet wurde: Wie wurden die Objekte rezipiert, wie prägten sie Erwartungen und Erfahrungen der Pilger, wie trugen sie zum Gelingen der Wallfahrten bei?
