Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
As part of the excursion we will visit three of the most important Polish centers of contemporary art: Warsaw, Lodz and Kraków. We will not only visit the relevant museums of contemporary art there, but also take a look at the history of the very different cities and their different urban characters. We will also look at contemporary art in its art-historical context - Polish modernism and art during state socialism. In addition to the state and municipal institutions, we will visit commercial galleries and alternative art venues to get to know the diversity and the different economic and administrative conditions of the art institutions. Last but not least, talks with artists, curators and art critics are also planned.
