Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

With the term "Installative Archives" the seminar is interested in spatial compositions that work with the potentials of archives. "Installative Archives" can be found in science, museums, libraries, companies, associations, galleries etc. They are temporary accesses to historical material that make specific topics or methods public.
Using different examples from research and art, the seminar discusses the characteristics of "Installative Archives", how they differ from other spatial compositions, what emancipative dimensions these multimodal and temporarily published materials have.
We work on these questions on the basis of scientific literature and illustrative material, independent research, presentations, discussions and, if possible, visits to exhibitions.
