Sofern die Exkursion den Covid-19-Richtlinien entsprechend vor Ort stattfinden kann, werden die übrigen Einheiten Mittwochs zwischen 11 und 13 Uhr im Kunsthistorischen Museum durchgeführt. Der genaue Ablauf wird in der ersten Sitzung bekanntgegeben.
Wenn wir die Exkursion vor Ort durchführen können, wird sich die Anschaffung einer Jahreskarte für Sie lohnen.

Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Ivory and stone carvings from various centuries can be found in many collections. These objects are mostly of small or limited size and they are characterized by their material value and by elaborated craftsmanship. This excursion aims to examine objects of this kind in the collections of the Kunsthistorisches Museum on site. First, we will focus on the objects and their materiality, but we will also consider the possibilities and limits of researching them and their presentation at the Museum. Should the excursion not be able to take place on site as a result of new restrictions and closures due to Covid-19, the focus will be on the presentation of objects of this kind in museum catalogues and/or in digital form (homepage, online exhibitions).

Anwesenheit und aktive Mitarbeit/Diskussionsbeteiligung, Referat vor Ort und der Verfassung eines kurzen schriftlichen Exkursionsreader-Beitrags (in der Art eines Katalogtextes zu formulieren)

Die Benotung erfolgt aufgrundlage der oben beschriebenen Leistungen
