Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The course offers an intense introduction to a central region of the history of art in the Islamic periods of Western Asia and to its historical and contemporaray context in Persian speaking culture. The focus is on the arts of architecture and its decoration from c. 900 to the modern period. The main part of the route is in Central and East Iran (Tehran, Damghan, Bastam, Mashhad, Taybad, Khargird, Tabas, Yazd, Nayin, Isfahan, Kashan, Rayy).
Assessment and permitted materials
Two presentations, participation in the discussion, regular participation in the meetings
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Examination topics
Guided analysis of orginals of artworks and their local setting, presentation, discussion.
