Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Using the example of Emperor Maximilian I's large woodcut project, students' ability to work academically is expanded and consolidated. Students should then be able to research effectively in online databases and libraries, check research opinions for their plausibility and topicality, interpret works of art in their historical context, adhere to the specified length of a text with footnotes and not exceed a set lecture time.

Assessment and permitted materials

- Participation in discussions
- Presentation (with Powerpoint presentation)
- In-depth study in the form of a written assignment (8 manuscript pages of 1500 characters each)
- By registering for this course, you agree that the automated plagiarism checking software Turnitin will check all written assignments submitted by you in Moodle.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirement:
- Attendance is compulsory. In the event of repeated absence due to illness or exceptional family circumstances, written proof must be provided.
- To successfully complete the course, the three achievements mentioned above (participation in discussions, presentation, written work) are required, with legible written work being the most important.

Assessment criteria:
- Discussion contributions 25%
- Presentation 25%
- Written homework 50%

Grade key:
1 (very good); 2 (good); 3 (satisfactory); 4 (sufficient); 5 (unsatisfactory)

Examination topics

There is no oral or written examination. Performance is assessed solely through participation in the discussion, the PowerPoint presentation and the written work.
