Aims, contents and method of the course
The lecture sheds light on various on different ways of relating and positioning contemporary art in relation to politics, society and economy. From the tensions between "autonomy" and "heteronomy" in the art field with the various interpretations of these terms it introduces, with the help of examples and different theoretical positions diplomatic and other political uses of art, the politicality of major international exhibitions, various, often contradictory concepts of what actually constitutes political, social or activist art, to questions of art sponsorship, the art market and cultural and cultural policy.
