Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course will introduce a selection of Digital Humanities methods as they relate to art-historical research, discussing benefits and drawbacks of computational approaches to the field. The focus will be on practical applications of these methods using Pythion programming. No prior programming knowledge is required! Students can expect to come away with an overview of digital methods relevant to Art History, the ability to apply these methods to their own research, and basic knowledge of the Python programming language. Please note that a computer is required for this course.

Assessment and permitted materials

The final grade will consist of 40% of participation and assignments and 60% of the final project.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Maximum one excused absence is allowed. All assignments need to be submitted to complete the course.
