Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

There are only a few of churches existing from the Carolingian period. Secular architecture, like Palatinate, we know only from archeological researches and their reconstruction. And we also know nearly nothing about monasteries. But the monastery plan of St. Gall, which was produced in the 9th century, shows ground floor plans of about 52 buildings. The drawings of these buildings should be discussed with the existing or reconstructed Carolingian architecture.
