Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In recent years public space in the first district is reshaped due to touristification, especially in the ground floor zones.
In your seminar we will discover the city through the lens of a tourist (tourist gaze), an inhabitant and a guide. In the first part of the seminar we will have a discussion about the topic based on theoretical texts about the tourist city, touristification and urban change.
Moreover, we will work in groups, who will elaborate an enquiry. Based on the first findings we will conduct interviews and conduct explorations of the city space to understand the visual and infrastructural shift, as well as the everyday live perspectives.
