Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Dada is primarily seen as a movement within the arts, although it is evident that it can not be separated from the historical context (i.e. the desperate battle for the survival of the Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy and the German Empire during World War I) and the social and economical conditions. The seminar offers the opportunity to deal with the Dada-movement, especially with its mechanism of protest by the examination of selected writings by the US-American sociologist and economist Thorstein Veblen (1857-1929).
