Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This exercise is organised additionally to Dr. Anna Filigenzi's lecture "Indian Cult Places and Gods - 2nd century BC to 6th century CE" (Fr, 9.45-11.45 starting on 11.11.2011 in C2). Participation at the lecture is not a pre-condition, but highly recommended.
Assessment and permitted materials
Regular attendance, active participation at discussions, one presentation of a selected topic of 15-20 minutes (with handout of 1 page) as well as a 3-5 pages long written essay.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Students shall equally aquire knowledge about the art of the earliest Indian cult centers, their religious concepts, figures and gods and also train correct scientific working.
Examination topics
Following an introduction to the cultural-historical background, the students have to present selected topics, which will be discussed in the group.
Reading list
Da ein Großteil der Literatur auf Englisch ist, sind zumindest passive Englischkenntnisse notwendig.Am Anfang des Semesters werden die wichtigsten Werke in Form von Handapparaten zugänglich gemacht. Relevante Artikel werden über die E-learning Plattform moodle zur Verfügung gestellt.
