Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The PS deals with the art of the Tibetan Bon Tradition. Because this PS will continue next semester with an UE aimed at preparing an exhibition in the Museum of Ethnology Vienna, students who register should be seriously interested in the topic as well as participating in the preparation of the exhibition in the next semester.
Assessment and permitted materials
Regular attendance, oral presentation of a chosen topic (20 minutes), handout, active participation in discussions, written paper of 10-15 pages.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Scientific examination of an object or group of objects of the Bon tradition, which should ultimately be prepared in winter semester 2012/13 for the exhibition.
Examination topics
After an introduction at the beginning of the course, students shall aquire further knowledge about this tradition and train their art historical skills by discussing selected objects, e. g. from the Museum of Ethnology, Vienna.
Reading list
Da ein Großteil der Literatur auf Englisch ist, sind zumindest passive Englischkenntnisse notwendig. Eine Literaturliste wird zu Beginn des Semesters verteilt.
