Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course aims a multi-layered investigation of Goya's most famous collection of prints, ranging from material to formal and semantic levels, from the thorough analysis of single sheets to observations concerning sub-cycles and the structure of the collection at large, from immanet readings to questions of interpictoriality and context.

Assessment and permitted materials

Participation in discussions, one oral presentation and, most important of all, an art historical paper (of 25 pages meeting common art historical standards). All means of scholarly research are welcome, while there is, of course, a ban on plagiarism.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Term paper, oral presentation, active participation are required. The overall grade results primarily from the paper, but the oral presentation und particiaption in the course can be very important, especially if the the quality of the paper is ambigous ("between two grades").

Examination topics

This is a seminar, don't watch out for exams.
