Continuous assessment of course work

The seminar is focused on an unpublished artwork. Students will be guided to establish its date, location and content as well as to place it in its original historical and sociological context. The basic questions required to achieve that work will be developed at the start of the seminar. Topic identification for student papers and establishment of individual research design will be developed in collaboration with the seminar leader.

Aims, contents and method of the course

GOALS: Development of the ability to deal with an art work deriving from the art market, about which nothing has yet been published.
METHODS: style analysis, iconography, iconology, transdisciplinary approaches (postcolonial discourse etc.).

Assessment and permitted materials

PERFORMANCE OVERSIGHT: Structure of the oral paper and PPT (must be uploaded one week before the presentation of the oral paper); oral paper (professional presentation and perfect PPT), constructive contributions to the discussions; delivery of the written paper in printed form and upload of the PPT by July 31, 2017.
PERMITTED RESOURCES: anything relevant.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

very good skills for describing art works and analysing style; strong interest in history and sociology.
