Aims, contents and method of the course

The seminar will deal with the problems of post-expressionistic painting in Germany and Austria using the example of the artistic work of Christian Schad, Otto Dix, Rudolf Schlichter, Karl Hubbuch, Franz Radziwill, Carl Grossberg, Georg Schrimpf, Alexander Kanoldt, Rudolf Schlichter, George Grosz, Otto Nagel, Jeanne Mammen, Franz Sedlacek, Rudolf Wacker, Franz Lenk u.a.

Knowledge of the most important artists of the so called "New Objectivity" in Germany and Austria, the development of the term, the most important exhibitions und the difference to painting of Expressionism and National Socialism
