Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The lecture introduces the view and working methods of European Ethnology in history and present, familiarizes with different theoretical approaches, central terms and concepts and presents exemplary research fields of the subject. In doing so, not only keywords and topics of today's academic life are presented and reflected upon, but also those that have played a prominent role in the subject's tradition and history. The perspectives characteristic of the subject today will be examined, as well as why and how bodies of knowledge are replaced and transformed or even discarded in the history of a subject.The lecture will take place under conditions of the current Corona pandemic. Depending on the hygiene regulations in force at the beginning of the lecture, the lecture will take place via videoconferencing or in presence. Appropriate information will be communicated via Moodle.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
A minimum of 50 points out of a possible 100 must be earned for successful completion of the course.Grading scale:
1: 100 to 87.5 points
2: > 87.5 to 75 points
3: > 75 to 62.5 points
4: > 62.5 to 50 points
