Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture introduces the view and working methods of European Ethnology in history and present, familiarizes with different theoretical approaches, central terms and concepts and presents exemplary research fields of the subject. In doing so, not only keywords and topics of today's academic life are presented and reflected upon, but also those that have played a prominent role in the subject's tradition and history. The question is about the perspectives characteristic for the subject today, but also about the value of earlier folkloristic knowledge and working methods.

The lecture will take place under conditions of the current Corona pandemic. Depending on the hygiene regulations in force at the beginning of the lecture, the lecture will take place via videoconferencing or in presence. Appropriate information will be communicated via Moodle.
