Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Since January 2024, the Folklore Museum has been in interim use by various initiatives. Under the motto "Before it gets better", cultural workers and activists in the fields of migration and climate protection are invited to use the space vacated for the renovation of the building.
The kulturwissenschaftliche Werkstatt will accompany this process and develop ways in which it can act as an amplifier for the activities. The focus will be on the question of designing public spaces.

In cooperation with the Austrian Museum of Folklore, we will get to know the everyday life of a cultural institution in the "Cultural Studies Workshop 1" and thus various areas of work in which empirical cultural studies skills are required.
